With the new 2022 Lexus RZ 450E Electric SUV, Lexus has taken a big step into electric-only luxury vehicle technology. The Japanese automaker released few details on performance specifications. Still, these photos make it look like they will be using their Direct4 AWD powertrain due to a logo showing up prominently in front of this car's rear tire when viewed from behind. The Lexus Hybrid and Electric Vehicle employ front and rear high-output electric motors to control and adjust the distribution of torque and braking power to all four wheels, thanks to the Direct4 AWD. The RZ 450e's smooth curve, basic appearance, and spindle grille also indicate a change in Lexus' future SUVs' design language. It specifically resembles Toyota's bZX4 concept SUV, which was revealed earlier this year as a more premium version of the sister brand Toyota's bAZ4 concept van. The RZ 450e does not have an announced price or availability date.
