It's a special moment for Toyota as the celebrated 4Runner is celebrating 40 years since first being introduced. With this milestone in mind, the company has released a limited edition 40th Anniversary Special Edition of the mid-sized SUV, inviting drivers to join in the celebration.
Painted in one of four colors – White, Midnight, Barcelona Red Metallic, or Black Metallic – each SUV boasts a unique graphics package that pays homage to early vintage desert racers. Additionally, 17" six-arm split-spoke alloy wheels and a bronze-colored tailgate badge have been fitted to separate it from standard models, while a "TOYOTA" heritage grille adds even further distinction.
The cabin of the 4Runner lacks no features either; exclusive badges line the interior alongside a bronze-colored cross-stitch shift knob for an elegant aesthetic. Bronze accent stitching on the seats and floormats with a 40th Anniversary logo underscores its superior craftsmanship, while the power moonroof as standard provides heightened convenience. Keeping up with the robust exterior features are equally powerful components under the hood. The trim level comes with a 270-hp 4.0liter V6 along with blindspot monitoring, seating for up to seven, SofTex-trimmed seats, HomeLink universal transceiver tech, Smart Key System, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, all equipped as standard. As an added bonus, Toyota has also included its Safety Sense package within this package too.
Though only 4,040 units will be available in the US market, pricing is expected to be higher than usual at $41,515 SR5 Premium-spec 4Runner, given its luxurious design and powerful specifications.
