The electric car revolution has been gaining momentum for years, and it looks like British sports car maker Apex is not about to be left behind. From the ambitious minds of Jason and Gary Leung and with design from Guy Colborne comes the AP-0, a high-performance electric two-seater that promises to usher in a new era of electric performance.
The AP-0 packs an impressive spec sheet - 649 horsepower, 0-62 in 2.3 seconds, an electronically limited top speed of 190 MPH, and an estimated 320 miles of range on a full charge. But what truly sets it apart is the weight – or lack thereof. At only 2,645 pounds, it’s lighter than most track day specials from Ferrari and McLaren, making it incredibly agile and responsive within its powerband.
This lightweight monster is built on a carbon fiber chassis with an adjustable F1 pushrod suspension. It also comes equipped with state-of-the-art safety features such as HUD and LIDAR adaptive cruise control for added protection against other motorists on the road. The AP-0 is primed to become one of the premier performance EVs when it enters production in 2022.
