Ferrari enthusiasts will undoubtedly recognize the "Breadvan," a one-of-a-kind custom 250 GT that made its debut in 1962. Intended to compete in Le Mans against the up-and-coming 250 GTO, the Breadvan caught the attention of car lovers with its unique design and aerodynamic Kamm Tail. Despite its somewhat utilitarian appearance, the Breadvan proved to be a formidable racing machine, tearing down the Mulsanne straight with ease.
London-based design firm Neils van Roij has paid tribute to this iconic vehicle by creating the "Breadvan Hommage," a retro redesign of the Ferrari 550 Maranello. The result of over a year's worth of work, the Breadvan Hommage boasts a single piece of hand-formed aluminum and a host of design elements inspired by the original car, including air vents between the headlights and a precise cutout on the hood. To save weight and give the vehicle a more aggressive stance, the Breadvan Hommage also features plastic window louvers and 20-inch wheels.
Inside, retro details abound, completing the transformation of the 550 Maranello into a true homage to the beloved Breadvan. The result is nothing short of stunning, and car fans won't want to miss the opportunity to learn more.
