Last month, we reported on IWC and Mercedes-AMG Petronas teaming up to create a race-ready timepiece with the Pilot's Watch Chronograph
41. Now, things are even more intriguing as the Swiss watchmaker and German car marque have unveiled their latest collaboration, the Big Pilot's Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition "AMG ONE OWNERS."
This incredible new watch is only available for owners of the AMG ONE automobile, a hybrid hypercar with F1-derived technology and a limited production run of just 275 examples at an eye-watering price tag of $2.7 million or higher.
Developed by Lewis Hamilton himself, this ultimate vehicle boasts over 1,000hp and has a top speed of over 217mph – bringing Formula One spec to government-sanctioned roads for the first time ever. As for the timepiece itself, it has several subtle nods to the racing team: its titanium aluminide case material is used in high-performance racing engines, while aqua green accents on the black rubber strap show through from underneath. Its 94800 calibre mechanism offers incredibly precise accuracy thanks to its constant force tourbillon feature that drains power consistently throughout its 96-hour power reserve. There's also a double moon phase subdial and power reserve indicator displayed prominently on the expansive dial.
This truly remarkable combination of luxurious automotive and horological engineering is already sold out – four times more orders than planned were received – though Mercedes has promised to keep exclusivity intact with just 275 examples available worldwide. So if you want to get your hands on this awe-inspiring piece of Haute Horlogerie craftsmanship, you better be one of those lucky few privileged enough to own an AMG ONE.
