Contrary to its unassuming moniker, Silent-Yachts has been causing quite a stir. As the foremost purveyor of luxury electric catamarans globally, the company is renowned for its daring spirit and penchant for innovation. Driven by a profound commitment to mitigate humanity's impact on marine ecosystems, Silent-Yachts consistently delivers exceptional watercraft that spares no expense on luxury. Recently, they have set their sights on a novel endeavor – Silent-Resorts.
In an interview with PowerBoat, Michael Köhler, the founder and CEO of Silent-Yachts, elucidated the underlying philosophy of this ambitious project. "Our aim," he said, "is to offer clients a sustainable, utterly silent, and entirely fossil-free leisure experience, perfectly harmonizing with the building process. No more exorbitant remote site construction, protracted approvals, intricate engineering, or invasive land-based infrastructure development. Instead, we're crafting a unique, luxurious floating adventure resort."
At its core, Silent-Resorts seeks to establish a fully autonomous resort fueled exclusively by solar power to provide guests with a seamless blend of land and sea experiences. Silent-Yachts' catamarans double as floating villas, each outfitted with four lavish suites, private bathrooms, capacious saloons, a chef's kitchen, a terrace, and a sundeck. Additional amenities can be tailored to guests' preferences. Silent-Resorts oversees the entire design and infrastructure process, encompassing arrival docks, a restaurant, pool, clubhouse, gym, spa, and hardwood timber suites.
The overarching vision is to enable guests to relish life to the fullest while treading lightly on the environment, all within the breathtaking confines of some of the world's most unspoiled paradises. It appears that this aspiration is on the brink of realization. Köhler divulged that they are currently in discussions with investors keen on Caribbean private island development. "Resort owners will appreciate the diminished capital investment," he explained, "and ongoing operational costs will be but a fraction of those associated with traditional properties. Given that the rooms are situated within our floating villas, they are no longer tethered to the land or any specific location. Consequently, all resort assets are classified as 'personal property,' thereby circumventing costly and complicated foreign land ownership and tax structures."
Although Silent-Yachts and Silent-Resorts may have initially flown under the radar, it is unlikely that this state of affairs will persist. As word of this groundbreaking concept spreads, it is poised to send shockwaves throughout the tourism industry. In the near future, the very notion of silence may well become synonymous with the resounding success of these remarkable ventures.
